The giant hot tava we are living in has made my life difficult for so many reasons. First, I have to deal with my super oily skin which seems to have a mood of its own. It breaks out the moment I step out in the sun. Second, it gets difficult to convince my gang to hang out. Who would like to hang out in the Delhi summer? I love street shopping but its only possible in the colder months. Which is why I love to mall around. I just came back from my fabulous goa trip and wanted to fill my bestie in with all the details so we planned to spend our weekend at DLF Place, Saket.
To start the day, we first went to Marks and Spencer. Being a fashion and beauty blogger, I have tried almost everything they have to offer. Right from the dresses to the shoes, jewellery to the lingerie, makeup to fragrance. I am trying to build a new boho wardrobe for the summer and I found these cute little lounge shorts with pom poms! Apart from that I also stocked on some wardrobe staples like oversized tshirts in solid colours, high waisted blue shorts and white cotton tops. Come winters and I’m gonna go back for the mini leather skirt I spotted which I currently can’t get out of my mind. You know what they say.. If you can’t stop thinking about it then buy it
While browsing the store I also found these cute little scented candles, the kinds you don’t easily find in India at such a bargain. They smell really nice and are totally in budget.
After spending close to 2 hours in Marks and Spencer’s, I headed to Clarks to check out the new collection. If you know me, you know I’m out and out a pumps girl. It takes a lot to get me into flats. But the comfy summer sandals made me jump across the wall and join the flat shoes club. They were so pretty and summery! I also found this neon tangerine backpack which would go really well with all my summer outfits.
The next stop was Only. Boy they are so big on boho prints this year! From flowy shirts to vibrant skirts, they had everything. But because I was specifically looking for an evening outfit, particularly for night outs and clubbing, I opted for an off shoulder black top and a vibrant tribal mini skirt. To match the whole tribal theme, I found this very cute tribal necklace which pulled the whole look together. Apart from that, I also found these cute red sneakers. Don’t they just scream awesome?
You know they are not wrong when they say girls shop till they drop. I actually was about to drop after running and prancing around the mall all day. To get something inside we headed to The Big Chill Cafe. Okay who am I kidding..hunger or no hunger, a visit to DLF Place, Saket is never complete without dining at The Big Chill Café. By now I’m sure they recognize my face! Settling in for our regular order, creamy white sauce arrabiata, banana smoothie, raspberry banana froyo and the blueberry cheesecake, we ate our hearts out and I filled my bestie in about all the fun I had in Goa. I had such a good time there.
When you get out of The Big Chill Café, you simply can’t ignore the tiny and cute New U store staring at you begging to be explored. Well who am I to refuse it? We stocked on some glitter nail paints from Maybelline, compacts from L’Oreal Paris and skin care from Vichy. And just in time I realized I needed to stock up on my favourite Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara for which we headed straight to Parcos. Its one of the only few stores in India that stock Rimmel and its like a tradition to check them out every time I go there. To wrap up, we went for a red velvet cupcake at Cinnabons and called it a day.
Going to DLF Place, Saket has become sort of a tradition in my circle. You will always find us malling there every other week. The next time you are at the mall, keep my recommendations in mind and I’m sure you will have a fabulous day out. #thinkfashionthinkdlfplace
