Go Festive

indian-ethnic-wear-wedding-look-book-fashionblog

My favourite time of the year is almost here! With so many festivals, weddings, parties, etc in tow you can’t help but get excited. Its that time of the year when wedding invitations start pouring in, festivals and holidays start coming back to back and….you have nothing to wear. Typical. But this time I decided to take charge and got my festive wardrobe ready before hand. So what is a basic festive wardrobe you ask? One of everything. You should have a lehenga (so important!), saree, anarkali suit, gown, salwaar kameez, some basic and festive kurtis and churidaars, trousers or palazzos in basic black, a nice cocktail dress and you are set. You don’t have to get it all at once but start building your festive wardrobe slowly and in no time you will be ready to say yes to all the invites!

Today I have 3 outfits to show you guys, I shopped them all online from Peachmode so I could give you links to recreate a similar wardrobe because lets face it, you hate it when somebody shows you an awesome outfit but they don’t tell you where to buy it!

Outfit 1: Pastel Blue Indo Western Gown

Starting with the easiest look: an indo western gown. It comes with a chunni and churidaar. The pastel tones make it a perfect outfit for easy breazy day time parties and functions. I love the sheer panel at the waist. Its dressy but still not heavy so you can have a good time without your outfit weighing you down.

Outfit 2: Anarkali Suit

Its my favourite anarkali right now! I knew I had to get it the moment I saw it. The blue grey colour is so unconventional and I don’t see a lot of suits in this hue so this is a must have for small functions like pooja, roka, sagan, etc. And look at the sheer back, its so hot! I guess I have a thing for everything sheer.

Outfit 3: Turquoise lehenga

This is my favourite outfit from the trio! Show me a girl who doesn’t love her lehengas more than her skirts and dresses. The lehenga is a great pick for a sunny day wedding or mehendi. I wish I had found it last year in time for my sister’s wedding.
