Summer is here! Okay honestly this isn’t something to be really excited about because it brings soo many problems along! I agree that the sun, beaches, holidays, floral dresses , straw hats, flip flops are the best part but what about the acne breakouts, oily skin, tanning, etc? Yeah you see my point. But..But this year I decided to prepare in advance. I started playing around with a few skin care products and brands and finally zeroed on the routine which I am going to share with you today.
I personally feel its better to use all products from one particular range that agree with your skin instead of trying to mix and match because the ingredients work in harmony and are meant to be used together. I have always been a fan of natural skin care products and would choose them over chemically laden products any day. And when my skin demands some good old ayurveda, I oblige! Which is why I started using the Kama Ayurveda products and they changed my skin care game!
In the morning, I use the following:
Kama Ayurveda Anti Acne Cleansing Foam:
It’s a new launch by Kama. I was quite excited to use a foaming cleanser because it’s the first time I tried it. I cleanses my face deeply without drying it out. Although I use a moisturizer afterwards, but it doesn’t make me run for it like some cleansers can do. It also take care of my routine zits and ever since I started using it, my breakouts due to pores clogging up have lessened up considerably. If you have an oily acne prone skin then try it out. Kama Ayurveda Pure Lavender Water:
Its so soothing! Earlier when I didn’t have it I used put some lavender essential oil in my rose water because lavender is known for its relaxing and soothing properties. It calms my skin down and takes care of the redness around my cheeks. I also spritz it om ny face before sleeping because the relaxation extends to your senses too and not just your skin. (buy here)
Kama Ayurveda Sensitive Skin Day Cream:
There was a time last year when I stopped using moisturizers on my skin because every second product would break me out. It’s a sin in the beauty blogging world but I couldn’t help it! But when Kama sent this product over and it mentioned sensitive skin on the label, I decided to give it a whirl. And now it has become my holy grail. It doesn’t make my face sticky and shiny like some of the heavier moisturizers I have used but keeps my skin hydrated without irritating it. Whatever they put in it, it works! (buy here)
At night I start off with:
Kama Ayurveda All Natural Makeup Remover:
By now I think you understand my point. Anything with chemicals doesn’t go within a 5 mile radius of my skin. But because you gotta remove your makeup at the end of the day, I was making do with bi phased makeup removers which were doing more harm than good. Then this baby came along. I take a dollop of it on my fingers, wet my face and start rubbing it all over my face gently. Within seconds the makeup starts melting, even the waterproof makeup. Then I wipe it off with a cotton pad (or 4!) It removes all my makeup without every feeling itchy or drying. Thumbs up! (buy here)
Kama Ayurveda Brightening Kumkuadi Ayurvedic Face Scrub:
After washing my face with the anti acne foaming cleanser, I sometimes like to scrub my face. I will admit I don’t do it daily and only end up exfoliating on weekends but hey your girl is trying! It’s a gentle scrub and the granules don’t irritate my sensitive skin. After using it religiously for a few days, you will notice a difference in your blackheads. (buy here)
Kama Ayurveda Nimrah Anti Acne Face Pack:
My scrub is almost always followed up by the Nimrah face mask. Because scrubbing opens up your pores while cleaning them, so a good soothing face mask relaxes your face and closes up your pores again. It compromises of red sandalwood and mix it with lavender water and a few drops of neem oil. (buy here)
Kama Ayurveda Organic Neem Oil:
On days when I have a little more time I take a few drops of neem oil in my palm and massage it all over my face. After 10-15 mins I wash it off. Facial oils are really good for your skin and I know some people who use them as moisturizers. But I use it 2-3 times a week to keep the acne at bay. Sometimes I also use it on my hair to keep my scalp healthy. You can also mix it in your regular hair oil. (buy here)
Kama Ayurveda Rejuvenating & Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream:
After spraying my face with the lavender water, I massage some of this cream onto my face and boy the hydration it provides! I knew I was doing something right when I woke up with a glowing face after the first time I used it. And this one I discovered ages back when I had just started beauty blogging and it has been my holy grail night cream ever since. You must have read about it in a lot of my earlier posts. If you have oily skin and find it tough to find a night cream that won’t make you break out then try it out. (buy here)
