Yes pink! When I first told my mom that I am gonna get my hair coloured pink she got hyper instantly! I had to calm her down with a “just kidding”. My parents literally threatened to throw me out of the house if I ever turn up at the door with pink hair. Sailor refused to hang out with the girl with pink hair. Sigh. So obviously the next best choice was a temporary colour which I somehow convinced these “boring” people in my life. Yes I am one of those people who make pinterest boards of pretty things and hair chalks were on my lust list from ever since they came out. Go search for the post “Bohemian Circus” on VNA to know how desperately I wanted these hair chalks to come in India. And that they did!
This year 2 brands in India came out with these temporary chalks for hair in a wide variety of colours: L’Oréal Professionnel and The Body Shop. TBS has priced them ridiculously at 1k while the L’Oreal chalk retails for Rs.500. Although L’Oreal in only available at salons so obviously I headed to my current favourite Geetanjali Salon in Delhi i.e the Select City Walk one. I trust the staff there. I also got my ombre hair colour retouched which I would show you once the chalk wears off.
People have not stopped staring ogling at me ever since. Just today I saw my neighbours nudging each other when I went on terrace today. All my stalkers relatives have been asking me if my photo is photoshopped. I would be honest..I am secretly enjoying the drama. The best reactions I got were from my followers and fellow bloggers on instagram and facebook. See more pictures of my new ombre pink hair HERE and HERE.
Coming to the questions you all have, I know I know. Is it temporary? Yes it is. It would wash out after a couple of washes. On brunette hair the colour would look more subtle and come out more fast. Since I had my hair coloured blonde ombre so the colour came out much brighter and would probably stay for 2-3 weeks. Although it looks more subtle off camera..say a dark pink plum. I will do some outfit shoots soon to show you the actual colour. I’m postponing my hair wash as much as I can. I don’t want my thunder to go away this easily!
Is it damaging? Temporarily yes. Its chalk so it takes away the moisture from your hair and make them dry..very very dry. To take care of that I got a hair spa done just before chalking and would probably take another after washing it off. So yes its high maintenance for sure. But “you are worth it”. People have been saying I would damage my best feature if I don’t stop these experiments soon but me no paying heed. I can’t see myself rocking pink hair after 30. And my experiments have just started. Finally I can tick off a checkbox from my bucket list!

Hottay! :D
You look ravishing. The ombre chalk highlights look fresh and not OTT at all. :)
thanks you! :D
I love your hair and this colour is so cool. :) I wish I could do it but my parents will have hysteria attack if I went ahead with even chalks!
haha i get that!
Cool….
I once got highlights on my hair, and the experience was so so bad bcz the stylist gave me highlights in whole crown area. I still remember how badly I was scolded at home and what all tricks I used to get rid off them. :D
Chalked hair look great on you. :-) They must have faded by now, right ?
they stay for a month only
Hey! It looks wonderful. How much did the whole thing cost?
the chalk is around rs.500 so DIY at home would be less expensive
