New Year Resolutions!

how-to-look-stylish-in-winters

how-to-look-stylish-in-winters

A very very happy new year everyone from me and Team VNA! I hope you had a great new years eve. I went out for a family dinner and later visited a family friend. And came back home to snuggle up in my rajai once again. That’s usually how all my new year evenings go. I’m not a party person so I ring in the new year with my family. My insta feed was full of people dressed up in LBDs and partying like crazy which I dont know why but I don’t miss.

Coming to my new year resolutions..yes there are always resolutions even though they are meant to be broken yada yada but atleast I hope to carry on with them sincerely for as long as I can. So here is the list:

  • Exercise. I just measured my waist and it gave me a panic attack. Not just to me but people concerned *ahem* So I have decided to be more regular at exercising. I don’t like gyms but I love yoga. I also like to follow fitness videos on youtube. Only thing is that they get dull when you watch them for the 100th time. So suggest me some pumping music for workouts and any good videos which are different from the usual.
  • Eat right. I plan to cut down om my sugar intake. I have a sweet tooth so desserts are a BIG part of my life..so big that sometimes they make up my main course. So the biggest change needs to be made here. I also plan to cut down on fried food and rice. My other weakness. So yeah let’s see for how long I can stick to this. Although I am gonna keep a day every week to indulge. Can’t help it!
  • Sleep cycle. I’m very active at night. This habit comes from my childhood when I used to study for board exams at night and sleep and party during the day. And it never changed. Now I eat, sleep and shop during the day and work at night. I sleep so much that sometimes it stretches to 16hours. Not kidding. NEED to change that. So the max I am gonna stay up is 3am.
  • Get out of my comfort zone. I made this resolution last year and it worked really well. I can’t even start on the times I have missed big opportunities because I was either too shy or too comfortable in my bubble. But I have slowly started to push the boundaries and this year I will try even harder.
  • Be more crazy. I hate people who are boring and never do anything fun. Kuchh toh log kahenge…? Kehne do. Last year the craziest I went when I coloured my hair pink. This year I’m gonna do more crazy shit.
  • Donate. I always wanted to but never had the funds for it. Now that I have started earning, I am gonna keep aside a part of it for donations and charity.

Well that’s it! Any more resolutions and I will break them all. Let’s see how I perform this year.

Coming to the outfit, I know you must have seen this on VNA. This was my 2014 new year outfit. But I’m in a process of moving all my outfit posts on Petite Peeve. So I decided to post this here for new year! Gonna do a fresh shoot tomorrow so stay tuned.

When I Got My Hair Chalked Pink..

Yes pink! When I first told my mom that I am gonna get my hair coloured pink she got hyper instantly! I had to calm her down with a “just kidding”. My parents literally threatened to throw me out of the house if I ever turn up at the door with pink hair. Sailor refused to hang out with the girl with pink hair. Sigh. So obviously the next best choice was a temporary colour which I somehow convinced these “boring” people in my life. Yes I am one of those people who make pinterest boards of pretty things and hair chalks were on my lust list from ever since they came out. Go search for the post “Bohemian Circus” on VNA to know how desperately I wanted these hair chalks to come in India. And that they did!

This year 2 brands in India came out with these temporary chalks for hair in a wide variety of colours: L’Oréal Professionnel and The Body Shop. TBS has priced them ridiculously at 1k while the L’Oreal chalk retails for Rs.500. Although L’Oreal in only available at salons so obviously I headed to my current favourite Geetanjali Salon in Delhi i.e the Select City Walk one. I trust the staff there. I also got my ombre hair colour retouched which I would show you once the chalk wears off. Continue Reading…

how-to-dress-up-for-a-casual-day-out-in-autumn

I hope you had a great Christmas! I went out and shopped with my girls. For new year’s eve I don’t have any plans but I guess I will spend it in with the family cozying up under a blanket munching some dark chocolate and gajar ka halwa with a cup of coffee while replying to all those bulk new year wishes on whatsapp (even the advance ones “before the lines get jammed blahblah”) I’m planning a FRIENDS marathon too. If you have good movie recommendations then do let me know. Chick flicks please!

Today is a very special day for us at VNA Headquarters. Its our 4th anniversary! Yes I know..sounds unbelievable. Although Petite Peeve is only 3 months old, it already feels like home too. You would be seeing a lot of me here in the coming year. People tell me they miss reading my own posts on VNA, the thing is I am spending less on makeup and more on dresses. No girl will ever admit but I have so much makeup that even my next 7 generations won’t need to buy anything IF they like. My mom will throw me out of the house if I buy one more lipstick. But she doesn’t mind me spending on clothes which she knows I will actually wear considering my jam packed social calender. And that is how Petite Peeve was born! Continue Reading…

Delhi Duty Free, T3, IGI Airport

Holidays call for a shopping post! I wanted to do a gifting guide for Christmas and New Year but they are so common that I decided to wait for some really nice deals to come my way. I was at the Indra Gandhi International Airport last week and spotted these discounts and promotions Delhi Duty Free is having for the whole month of December. Although they run some really awesome offers whole year round but the holiday month being extra special they went ahead and took it up a notch and called it Joy of Giving. Since a lot of you might be travelling for Christmas and New Year’s and considering the amount of stuff we Indians HAVE to get for family and friends back home, these might come handy. Instead of spending your holiday time shopping for gifts, just get them at duty free shops from airport instead and they won’t notice! Presently Delhi Duty Free is only at the Terminal T3 at Delhi IGI Aiprort, both at departures and arrivals. Continue Reading…

I love Christmas. I love Select City Walk. I love Select City Walk during Christmas. Moral of the story. Its unarguably one of the best malls Delhi has and the reasons are numerous. But we are not going there..for the sake of my wallet. So let’s concentrate on why I took these pictures in the first place. Christmas Carnival! Select City Walk is known to put up fancy and exquisite christmas decorations every year. From white christmas to giant pine trees, they have done it all. Continue Reading…

A day at Warren Tricomi getting Menage A Trios: Review

I make sure I keep atleast a day every week to myself..excluding the weekend ofcourse. This one day I tune out social media (which by the way is my work) and concentrate on my mental and spiritual well being..

..phhhbbbbbttt!! It basically involves grabbing a large bowl of popcorn and watching Two and a Half Men all day in my pajamas. This time I gave my polka dot pajamas a break and moved my butt to get a facial along with a manicure pedicure. I went to Warren Tricomi at The Manor in Friends Colony. As you would expect with spas, this too felt like a different world altogether as soon as I entered. You have to walk through a very beautiful garden to enter Zehen where the spa is. I wish I had taken a friend along to do an outfit shoot there, the opportunity was too good to be missed but I was alone (refer to the ME time above) and I still managed a shoot! I figured instead of an OOTD I could click some makeup shots for my reviews on VNA. I had an event to go to later on so I was carrying some makeup with me. You will see those shots on VNA soon. Smoothie Factory Delhi Review

Well I will settle for smoothie till the time I find a chocolate factory. Every time I go out, I look for a new place to eat. I guess that’s because I get bored easily. Googling reviews on Zomato is one of my favourite pass times! Ever since I heard Smoothie Factory opened a new branch closer to my place I was itching to try their smoothies and snacks atleat once. They have their main branch at Nehru Place which is quite far from my place but now they have opened in Connaught Place (right next to Cotton Emporium in Janpath) My favourite adda in CP is Dunkin Donuts because its not madly crowded like KFC and McDonalds where you have to wait in line for a seat. And I guess I have found a new adda too.

I went to Smoothie Factory recently and the first thing I ordered was a Blueberry Smoothie and a Very Berry Smoothie (yes two because I couldn’t pick just one!) and they truly have named the food joint right. Its a heaven for those looking for healthy and nutritious smoothies without compromising on the taste. Continue Reading…
